(클래식에 조예가 싶으신) 조 여사님께서 한국으로 가시면서
우편물들을 내 집주소로 포워딩 해놓은 터라...
별의별 우편물들이 모두 집으로 날아온다. -_-;
그 중에 하나가 saint louis symphony orchestra (SLSO) 에서 날라오는 공연안내 팜플렛.
지난번에 '미셸 곽'님께서 한국으로 귀국 하시기전에 보았던 5 browns 공연도...
5월달에 있을 베토벤 9번 교향곡 공연 안내정보도 이렇게 날라오는 팜플렛을 통해서 알게 되었다.
팜플렛을 버리기 전에 건질만한 단어가 있나 보던 중,
역시나 클래식에 조예가 깊으신 조 여사님께서
사두기만 하고 잘 듣지는 않는 것으로 사료되는 많은 클래식 CD 중에서 알게된 얼굴이 보여서...

삼성을 생각한다. 이용철 변호사.
꼬리에 꼬리를 무는 영어.
판검사 이야기가 주를 이루는 '삼성을 생각한다'.
얼마전 아내가 거래은행과의 집단 소송에서 승소하여 돈을 좀 받았다고 하던데... $5...
땅 판다고 5불이 나오는 것은 아니지만, 그래도 변호사들이 챙겨먹었을 돈을 생각하면... 쫌 그렇다는 생각이 든다.
어찌됬든 법으로 먹고사는 lawyer가 미국에서는 엄청 많더라.
lawyer를 의미하는 유의어가 엄청나게 많던데...
마침 꼬꼬영에서 'bar-'라는 어근에서 시작하여 파생된 다양한 단어를 설명해 주는 페이지가 있는터라,
이곳에 다시 한번 정리함.

친숙한 단어이기는 하지만 정확한 의미를 모르고 있었기에...

입법(부): 국회
행정(부): 정부
- 사회의 일반적인 법질서를 유지하기 위한 정보의 행정 활동을 위한 수행조직, 경찰조직 포함.
사법(부): 법원. judicial: connected with a court, a judge or legal judgement.
- 검사의 검찰 사무를 수행하는 검찰조직을 포함.
- 미국에서는 FBI, Federal Bureau of Investigation(미 법무부 산하의 수사 기관)
권력분립의 위기
권력분립이 참으로 자유 보장의 의미를 지니기 위해서는 국가작용이 구별되어 국가작용의 담당자가 정치적 실체에서도 서로 다를 필요가 있는 것이나 현대국가에서는 입법작용이 행정적 성격을 띠며, 행정작용이 입법적 성격을 띠며, 또한 의회를 지배하고 있는 정당이 정부까지도 장악하고 있기 때문에 오늘날 권력분립은 심각한 위기에 처해 있으며, 새로운 방향을 모색하고 있다.

유학 중 한국에서 사지고 간 랩탑이 고장나는 바람에, 엉겹결에 랩탑을 사게 되었는데... 그 녀석이 HP pavilion dv2000 이다.
워낙 네임밸류가 있는 기업이라, 디자인 보고, 가격 보고... 추호의 망설임도 없이 랩탑을 샀는데... -_-;
HP 랩탑에 대한 사람들 평을 증명이라도 하듯 처음부터 버버버벅... 급기야 1년을 쓰고 뻗어 버렸다. 된장...
(반면 HP에서 나온 프린터 제품군은 상품평이 좋다)
지난 2008년 말부터 시작된 '미국발 경제위기'... 그리고 연이은 기업들의 도산.
내가 기억하는 기업 중 circuit city 라는 한국의 '하이마트' 정도 되는 기업도 going out of business. 덕분에(?) 08년 12월 겨울내내 매장을 드나들었던 기억이 난다. clearance sale 하는 제품들 싸게 사 볼거라고... (그닥 건진 물건들은 없지만...)
